Field notes and information
A species from the Alps and Tatra mountains. Can be common where found.
Identification & Similar species: Lacks any small black spots in the orange areas. The hindwing has small, regularly sized orange spots.
Distribution & Flight: From the northern French Alps eastwards in the Alps. Also the Tatra mountains. Flies in July/ August.
Habitat & Behaviour: Grassy places amongst trees and above the treeline.
