A Scandinavian species. It is fairly widespread.
Identification & Similar species: Resembles the Arctic ringlet E. disa which lacks spots on the hindwing.
Distribution & Flight: From central Sweden northwards into Finland. Flight time is seasonally variable, this is one of the earlier species on the wing in June/ early July.
Habitat & Behaviour: A bog specialist, frequently seen flying between trees over mosses beside bogs.
