Field notes and information

Now considered to be a subspecies of the Ripart's anomalous blue, P. ripartii agenjoi, from northeast Spain.

Identification & Similar species: This subspecies has a faint white streak along vein 4 of the underside hindwing about half the normal length in this group of species. It is fairly constant, but variation can be marked.

Distribution & Flight: it is confined to the hills between Barcelona and the southern slopes of the Pyrenees. It flies in high summer, mid July to mid August.

Habitat & Behaviour: Hot dry grassy places with abundant Scabious flowers.
