This ranges across central Europe, the Balkans and northern Spain. Usually the underside is a dark uniform green and the spot in the basal area of space 6 is rounded. The photos above were taken in the Pelopennesos where the form major is present. This is larger than the normal form. The butterflies above are somewhat browner than typical serratulae but all the specimens I got a close look at were like this.
