Field notes and information

A local species, found in a restricted range in central the Pyrenees. It can be common where found.

Identification & Similar species: The mottled underside hindwing and dull upperside orange of the male are key features.

Distribution & Flight: Limited to the high mountains of the Pyrenees. Flies in mid July and August.

Habitat & Behaviour: Grassy slopes with rocks and often with a few trees nearby.
