When worn the usually distinctive blue spot can become difficult to see.

This is one of the more attractive Hairstreaks with bold underside markings and a lovely blue spot in the hindwing anal angle. It is found across southern and central Europe, often commonly from low levels to 2000m or more. I associate it with open shrubby places, and at high levels dwarf shrubs such as Oak. It loves taking nectar at flowers where it can be photographed at leisure. It also rests for long periods at easily photographed heights on foliage of shrubs.
