This is often found abundantly in the right places and under the right conditions. It is migratory to some extent so can turn up anywhere in southern Europe as far north as central France and very occasionally further north. It can be found swarming over Lucerne fields and in Morocco we found it swarming around some form of Broom that was flowering in March. Otherwise it can sometimes be found singly, usually at low levels and often close to the coast.
