A species of mountains across Europe. It is reminiscent of the Black Veined White, Aporia crataegi, with which I suspect it is sometimes confused. It is usually very local and prefers more open grassy spaces, although in Greece it flies in meadows amongst forests. It generally keeps a low profile and is of generally low abundance where it is found. I'm more surprised I've only found it once in the Alps.
