We had a question about the last two photos - could they be P.
armoricanus? We're pretty sure they aren't.

A difficult species to separate from the closely
similar P. carlinae and P. armoricanus. The ranges of
these species all overlap in the French Alps, armoricanus shares
much of the range of cirsii in the rest of S France and in Spain.
On the
upperside there are two marks mid way along spaces 2 and 3. These are
separate rectangles in carlinae and armoricanus (may just touch in some cases).
These marks are clearly merged in cirsii forming a wavy "S" shape.
