This is a widespread species found across most of
Europe to southern Scandinavia, northern Spain and only on the Isle of
Wight and one or two mainland colonies in the UK (where the photos above
were taken). In north Africa it is found in the mountains.
It is characterised by the bold row of black spots in the submargin of
both sides of the hindwing. |
