A local and, for me, not often encountered species of SW Europe. It is
similar to a number of species especially C. lavatherae. It is
distinguished from most of these by its "warm" grey/ brown
uppersides. For lavatherae there are several indications but the easiest
(as it is always visible) is the underside hindwing which has veins lined
whitish and the contrast between the white bands and the ground colour is much
clearer. All these species are variable though and as many features as possible
should be considered.
