Field notes and information

A bright Pyrgus skipper found throughout central and northern Scandinavia.

Identification & Similar species: It is much whiter than any similar species.

Distribution & Flight: Much of central and northern Scandinavia where it flies in June and July according to season. In 2010 I found it fairly commonly on the majority of bogs searched. In 1999 I found none, the two seasons were very different, that of 1999 being much earlier than that of 2010.

Habitat & Behaviour: Boggy places in forests and light woodland. Also exposed grassy places with pools and damp patches.
