Field notes and information

ARIZONA April 2015: A discrete butterfly, skulking low around bushes and above the leaf litter in woodland. It frequently rests on the ground where it is extremely well equipped to disappear into the background.

Named after the author-lepidopterist Vladimir Nabokov, it is one of those small twist of coincidence that he is burried just a few kilometers from where I live in Switzerland a long way from where this butterfly flies.
